EXAMINATION AND EVALUATION SYSTEM

“Education is the manifestation of the perfection already in man and its assessment has long been a part of our public education tapestry.”

DPS Moradabad believes in the fact that today’ child has to be nurtured as future ready global citizen equipped with knowledge, vision, skill and values and is committed to provide quality education to it students to ensure holistic development of it students. Hence besides educating, regular assessment is an integral part of the curriculum.

DPS Moradabad has brought about revolutionary change in its assessment pattern, to keep it abreast with the new pattern introduced by CBSE from the current academic session 2017-18.

CLASSES NURSERY -II
  1. Academic session is divided into two terms.
  2. Each term has three monthly assessments.
  3. Grades will be awarded instead of marks. Some areas of development will be informally assessed.
  4. Extra-curricular activities will be marked on the basis of overall performance.

CLASSES III –X


CLASSES III-V
  1. Entire session is divided into two terms.
  2. Each term will have periodic tests as well as Half Yearly(Term I)/ Annual (Term –II) examination.
  3. 50% syllabus will be assessed in each term.
CLASSES VI-VIII STRICTLY AS PER CBSE GUIDELINES
  • Entire session is divided into two terms.
CLASSES IX-X STRICTLY AS PER CBSE GUIDELINES
  • The entire session will have periodic tests of each subject in which the syllabi to be assessed will increase consecutively. Besides this subject –enrichment activities, note- book assessment will also take place.
  • Entire assessment will carry a weightage of 20 marks.
  • Culmination of the academic session will be marked by conduction of 80 marks pen- paper ANNUAL EXAMINATION of each subject.
  • FOR CLASS X THE ANNUAL ASSESSMENT WILL BE CONDUCTED BY CBSE IN THE FORM OF AISSE (ALL INDIA SECONDARY SCHOOL EXAMINATION)

SUBJECT ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES:

These are subject-specific activities aimed at enhancing the understanding and skills of the students. These activities will be carried out throughout the term, however, they will be evaluated at the term-end.

LANGUAGES (ENGLIH/HINDI/ SANSKRIT):

Aimed at equipping the learners to develop effective listening and speaking skills.

MATHEMATICS:

SCIENCE:

Practical work and activities in Science will be undertaken as suggested by the NCERT Syllabus and Text Books.

SOCIAL SCIENCE:

Map or the project work will be undertaken as suggested by the NCERT Syllabus and Text Book.

CO-SCHOLASTIC ACTIVITIES):

For the holistic development of the student, co-curricular activities will be carried out in the school and will be graded term-wise .The aspects of regularity, sincere participation, output, teamwork will be the criteria for grading the co- scholastic activities
  1. Work Education - Work Education refers to skill-based activities resulting in goods or services useful to the community
  2. Art Education (Visual & Performing Art)
  3. Health and Physical Education (Sports/Martial Arts/Yoga/NCC etc.)

Discipline:

The students will also be assessed for the discipline which will be based on the factors like attendance, sincerity, behavior, values, and tidiness, respectfulness for rules and regulations, attitude towards society, nation and others. Grading on Discipline will be done term-wise on a 3-point grading scale (A=Outstanding, B=Very Good and C=Fair)
