Important Information
  1. Emphasis should be laid on the activities designed to be assessed for CCE.
  2. Policy regarding Absentees in the Formative/Summative assessments.
    • a. All the tests are compulsory. If a child is absent for a test, the school has no provision for Re-test. In such cases 75% marks of the previous Formative/Summative Assessment will be considered.
    • b. In case the child has missed the test due to some severe medical problem (Medical Certificate required), re-test will be conducted on request only.
    • c. In case the child has missed the test due to his/her representation of the school for any DPS society organized event /CBSE event or due to some unforeseen mishap retest will be taken.
  3. No student shall be eligible to take the test unless he has completed 75% attendance counted from the opening of the school till the commencement of the examination.
  4. Policy regarding students using unfair means during Examination Student found using unfair means during any assessment will be awarded zero in that subject. No retest will be held for such student. The student will not be eligible for any award in that session.
  5. Policy regarding repeaters
    Such cases (if any) will be reviewed from time to time on the basis of performance in the Class Tests / Formal exams.
  6. Handling failures
    A child who fails twice in the same class will not be permitted to continue his/her studies in the school & TC may be issued. In classes IX-X the decision will be as per CBSE norms.
  7. Grading pattern for classes IX-X is subject to change as per the Board's pattern from time to time.
Criteria for Promotion to the next class
  1. Promotion is granted on the basis of whole year's performance of the pupil, hence the child must ensure regular attendance & must appear in all the assessments/ tests.
  2. In classes III-VIII a child must secure minimum D grade in each subject to ensure promotion to the next class. It is compulsory to get pass grades in, third language, Art & Craft, Music, Instrumental.
  3. The policy for Classes IX-X will be as per CBSE specifications.
  4. Provision for Compartment Exam:
    Classes IX-XII: For classes IX-XII the promotion policy shall be as per the CBSE specifications only.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR BOARD CLASSES
  1. No student shall be eligible to take examination unless he has completed 75% attendance counted from the opening of class upto the 1st of the month preceding the month in which the examination commences.
  2. Candidates taking up the subject involving practical work shall also be required to have put in at least 75% of the total attendance for practical work in the subject in the laboratory failing which the student will not be allowed to take the exam.
  3. The subjects assessed through external examination will be graded on 9- point scale.
  4. As per the CBSE directives, an additional subject can be offered in class XII only if it has been studied & passed in class XI. Additional subject is not a substitute of a major subject.
  5. The marksheet shall indicate positional letter grades as per the Board pattern. All the successful students in the annual Examination (i.e. scoring above 33%) will be put in a rank order and will be awarded grades as follows:
    • A-1 : The top 1/8th of the passed candidates.
    • A-2 : The next1/8th of the passed candidates.
    • B-1 : The next 1/8th of the passed candidates.
    • B-2 : The next 1/8th of the passed candidates.
    • C-1 : The next 1/8th of the passed candidates.
    • C-2 : The next 1/8th of the passed candidates.
    • D-1 : The next 1/8th of the passed candidates.
    • D-2 : The next 1/8th of the passed candidates.
    • E : Failed
  6. Subjects like Work experience, Art education, will be assessed on the basis of 9-point as per the Board's pattern.
  7. The students must pass in theory & practical separately in all the subjects, wherever it is applicable.
  8. The compartment policy will be as per CBSE Board's directives. Those students who do not satisfy the conditions for promotion/ compartment will be declared detained.
